What is the role of zirconium oxide

What is the role of zirconium oxide? For many people, the rare metal zirconium is strange, and here's the introduction to it:
Zirconium oxide (chemical: ZrO2) is the main oxide of zirconium, which is usually white, odorless and tasteless, and is difficult to dissolve in water, hydrochloric acid and dilute sulphuric acid. There is usually a small amount of hafnium oxide. Chemical inertness and high melting point, high resistivity, high refractive index and the properties of low thermal expansion coefficient, make it become a important high temperature resistant materials, insulation materials and ceramic sunscreen, also is the main raw material of artificial diamond. The band gap is about 5-7ev.
For making metal zirconium and zirconium compounds, and the crucible refractory brick, high-frequency ceramic and grinding materials, ceramic pigment and zirconium salts are mainly used for piezoelectric ceramics, daily-use ceramics, refractory materials and precious metals smelting with brick of zirconium, zirconium tube, crucible, and so on. It is also used in the production of steel and non-ferrous metals, optical glass and zirconium fiber. Also used in ceramic pigment, electrostatic coating and baking paint. It is used in epoxy resin to increase the corrosion of heat-resistant saltwater.
