Zirconium oxide (chemical: ZrO2) is the main oxide of zirconium, which is usually white, odorless and tasteless, and is difficult to dissolve in water, hydrochloric acid and dilute sulphuric acid. It is also used in the production of steel and non-ferrous metals, optical glass and zirconium fiber. Also used in ceramic pigment, electrostatic coating and baking paint. It is used in epoxy resin to increase the corrosion of heat-resistant saltwater.
